Arc & Saw publishes build plans and practical guides for people who would rather make something than buy it.
Built first, drawn second
The plans here start as real objects. The 10 ft Bottle Tree stood in a courtyard, welded, painted and lit, before its final drawings were made. The numbers on the sheets are the numbers that were cut, not a render's best guess.
Every plan set comes with an Excel calculator, because most builds aren't the exact size in the drawing. Change the height, the pipe you can get, or the length of fence you need, and every cut length, bar count and weight is worked out again.
Written from real jobs
The guides and articles cover the work around a build: protecting timber, painting, keeping a house in shape, and the mistakes that cost the most. Articles from the building site are written with a builder who does this work every day.
In two languages
Arc & Saw is made in Romania and published in English and Romanian. Plans are drawn in millimetres and in inches, each on its own, so nothing ends up as a rounded conversion.
